Ask ChatGPT how BTC really is.
Add RiskState to ChatGPT via developer mode — one MCP URL, no API key, 2 minutes. ChatGPT gets live BTC/ETH risk state, market structure and trading playbooks instead of guessing from training data.
https://api.riskstate.ai/mcpAdding custom MCP connectors requires a paid ChatGPT plan with developer mode enabled (Plus is enough).
Set up in 3 steps
- 1
Enable developer mode
In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode. This unlocks adding custom MCP connectors.
- 2
Add the connector
Back in Apps & Connectors, choose "Create" (add connector), name it RiskState, paste the MCP server URL https://api.riskstate.ai/mcp, and set Authentication to "No authentication".
- 3
Ask about BTC or ETH
Start a chat, enable the RiskState connector for the conversation (tools menu), and ask: "What's the current risk state of BTC?".
What you can ask
Each question maps to one of the three engine tools. Click to copy.
Three engines, three tools
The connector exposes the RiskState Stack as chat tools. Data refreshes roughly every 2 minutes.
5-level risk policy for BTC or ETH: max position size, leverage cap, direction bias, allowed and blocked actions — plus composite, structural and tactical scores, market regime, volatility regime and cycle phase.
Structural events firing now, expected asymmetry, distance to the next bullish and bearish triggers, key levels (ATH, 200W MA, 180-day range) and a friction map of support/resistance walls.
The registry of rule-based trade setups for BTC and ETH and which ones are firing right now, with structure-gate verdicts and cooldown state. Strategy-level only — no prices or sizes.
Free connector vs full API
The connector serves the free public summary tier. The full, auditable response is the API product.

Frequently asked questions
Which ChatGPT plans can add custom connectors?+
Paid plans with developer mode (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu). The free plan cannot add custom MCP connectors.
Is it really free? What's the catch?+
Yes. The connector serves the same free public summary tier as the RiskState Risk Engine viewer — no key, no signup, no catch. The full response (policy_hash audit trail, composite subscores, positioning and macro detail, portfolio-level /v2 endpoints) is the API product and requires an API key.
What about my privacy? Do you see my conversations?+
No. The connector requires no account and no authentication, so there is nothing to link requests to you. Your AI assistant calls our endpoint server-side and we only ever return public market data — we never receive or store your conversation.
How fresh is the data?+
Summaries are computed from 9+ real-time data sources and refreshed roughly every 2 minutes. Each response carries its own timestamp.
Is this financial advice?+
No. RiskState returns risk governance data — policy levels, exposure limits and market state. What you do with it is your decision. Nothing here is investment advice.
How is this different from the @riskstate/mcp-server npm package?+
The npm package is a local (stdio) MCP server for developers and trading agents: it requires an API key and returns the full v1 response. This remote endpoint is the keyless, zero-install version for chat use — same engine, summary tier.
ChatGPT isn't calling the tool — what do I do?+
Make sure the connector is added in Settings and enabled for the conversation, then ask explicitly: "Use RiskState to check the current risk state of BTC." Once it has called a tool successfully, natural questions work fine.
Using Claude instead?
Add RiskState to Claude →RiskState returns risk governance data — policy levels, exposure limits and market state. It is not investment advice.
